~A letter....for him~

A recent conversation with a friend prompted me to dig into my box of old letters, to find this one that I wrote nearly two years ago. Other than a few grammar tweaks here and there, I still think it's cute.

Dear future husband,                                                                                                    Nov. 3rd, 2011

My first thoughts of you were many. I've always desired a strong godly man who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind. For awhile, I've prayed for a man who has a strong relationship with God, a man will be a strong spiritual leader for our family, a man who would love me deeply, (but not as deeply as loving our Lord), a man who would have a heart for children, a man who will make wise choices, and a man who would prosper at his work. I've always admired your leadership, patience, and spiritual faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

You know what honey? Even if we somehow end up living in the streets someday with only an abandoned door-frame or cardboard box for shelter, I'll still be content because of two things: #1 I know that our Lord will provide for our every need (Matt. 4:4, Psalm 9:18, Job 5:15-16) and #2 that I'll be with you by your side, through the bad and good times in our life together. You'll always hold a special place in my heart, a place that will always be dear to me. Just remember, if I were to ever lose my temper with you, remind me of this; "Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm"~Psalm 37:8

So ends this letter to you my beloved.

This is wonderfully sweet. :) I used to write letters to my future husband every other time (or so) when he came up on my prayer list.

Loved it:) Guilty as charged for keeping one of those letters. Really great qualities in a husband because if He loves and respects The Lord then he'll love and respect his wife. Great post Nela!

P.S. I think you might want to know that your picture, button, and social media icons aren't showing up. There showing up as big gray circles with a white dash in between.
